Colour Implosions, 2025 are part of a larger body of work titled c0de to Home Series, which I started when thinking about the impact of the changing colours that I grew-up around in my childhood home.
These colours were never simply a fresh lick of paint or an accent wall, but a continual painting process. As colour began to fill the walls, then up onto the ceiling, and flowing through to the furnishings, each room felt colour saturated, smothering whatever colour was there before.
Colour Implosions, 2025 are formed on my imaginings of what may happen during a gravitational collapse or the evolution of a star when it dies, which can explode with a big bang and a sudden luminous explosion or fizzle out and form a blackhole.
